The Light Between Moments
Before the temple gates open, there's a particular quality of silence. Not empty, but full—holding the weight of centuries in the space between breaths. This is where I wait, camera still, watching how the first light catches the moss on stone lanterns.
The most compelling images often arrive uninvited, in the pause between planned compositions. A monk sweeps fallen ginkgo leaves. A cat stretches in a shaft of sunlight. The moment exists, then is gone—leaving only what could be captured, if one was present enough to see.
"Photography is the art of learning to see what others miss, in the moments between what is expected."
